Six students have secured offers at Oxford and Cambridge universities this year.

Bradley Hocking, Cambridge, Trinity Hall, Natural Sciences
Patrick Lawton, Cambridge, Christ’s, Mathematics
Andrew Brown, Cambridge, Fitzwilliam, Law
Aaron Hicks, Oxford, Mansfield, Engineering Science
George Hatos, Cambridge, Robinson, Mathematics
Josh Wrigley, Oxford, Lincoln, Mathematics

Competition for places is tougher than ever and we are delighted for our Oxbridge applicants. All of these students have paid tribute to the staff who have helped them in their preparation.

Being at a top university gives a unique opportunity to study subjects taught by world renowned experts, with similar minded people and to the boundaries of current scientific or artistic thinking. Receiving an offer from Oxbridge is testament to students’ intellectual abilities and reflects on nearly seven years of consistent study and hard work at DHSB.

Opportunities to Join Us!

This is an outstanding school and, as you know, we are currently looking for a Headteacher and a Teacher of Maths.

Please share the details with your family, friends and colleagues who may be interested in joining us.

School Transport

We were advised last year that Citybus would be withdrawing services East Cornwall Services 121,122, Yelverton Service 124 and Kingsbridge Service 126 from the end of the current academic year.

We have every intention of providing replacement services to maintain the grammar school transport network to support families at DHSB, DHSG and PHSG and have invited Devon County’s Transport Team to coordinate a tender process for us. This will take place over the coming weeks and once we know the outcome we will begin the process of communicating more fully with parents with our plans for September 2015.

An Extraordinary Day of Sport

“An extraordinary day of school sport at DHSB” said Mr Orkney and then added, “Actually it’s more like another normal day!”

Wednesday saw 1st XI and 2nd XI defeats, two U13 rugby teams winning the Plymouth Schools competition, two U12 football teams winning fixtures and our U14 basketball team competing at the central venue fixture.
