We’re all ready for Enrichment Week!
The exam season is at 95% completion, internal exams are over and it promises to be dry – and even hot on our European residentials.

Thank you to Mrs Rasmussen and all trip leaders and staff for making this crucial part of our curriculum come to life.

Follow #DHSBCEW for photos and updates.

Well done Mr Huq and all the boys who completed their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions over the last two weekends. It’s going to be a record breaking year for Bronze completions.

Mrs Corboy has very proudly told me that Adam Bruce and Sam Cade, both 9C, are runners up in the Animation15 UK schools computer animation competition.

Their presentation was called, “Meanwhile: what NOT to do on the Internet…”

Winstanley students have been busy fundraising for the local charity Jeremiah’s Journey.

Miss Ball said, “Students chose to support this cause as the charity provides support to children and young people when they have experienced or are anticipating the death of someone special, and yet receive no government funding. Through various events such as pancake sales, treasure hunts and cake stalls, Winstanley raised over £300.”

Today a group of students presented Jeremiah’s Journey with a cheque, and learnt more about their work with young people in the local community.

Congratulations to Henry Kingdon 9W who has been awarded the ‘Most improved player of the year award’ at his club the Horrabridge Rangers.

His coach commented that Henry always turned out in the first few years and persevered even when he didn’t get a game. He then went on to play ten minutes here and there. This season he scored his first goal for the club at an away match and subsequently scored a second at another away fixture.

Well done Henry.
