We are founder-members of The Learning Partnership (TLP), working with Devonport High School for Girls, Eggbuckland Community College, Notre Dame School and St Boniface’s College to provide an extended curriculum, sharing our good facilities and benefiting from the expertise of our diverse and successful partner schools. We also work with Plymouth College of Further Education and Plymouth High School for Girls.

ADMISSIONS

In order to follow a full Level 3 curriculum here at DHSB, you need to have achieved the appropriate Average Points Score (APS) at Key Stage 4 of 46 points or more including at least a C grade in English and Mathematics.
Our post-16 courses offer sound tuition in an academic environment and actively encourage and support applications to Higher Education. Students considering a place are invited to come to the January A-level Options Evening to meet staff, students and to look round the school.

OPPORTUNITIES

Sixth Formers have the opportunity to take
significant responsibility in the school during the two
years. In Y12 a number are appointed as School
Prefects. The school has been involved in Young
Enterprise since its inception in Plymouth and the
Y12 students are encouraged to take part in the
worthwhile initiative.
Careers guidance is offered to all students to help
them decide what the next step will be. 95-100% of
our leavers each year have the good A level grades
needed to satisfy the admission requirements for
access to Higher Education and most of them
proceed directly to University (including Oxford and
Cambridge).
