Named after Lady Astor, the first female MP

Astor Block provides excellent facilities for our Engineering workshops, the Technology Faculty and Art Studios. With three computer rooms, three high-tech workshops with CAD/CAM and laser cutting machines, two art rooms, a pottery and a traditional Resistant Materials workshop, the boys have the opportunity to imagine, design and make almost anything! Much of the engineering equipment was funded by four generous sponsors (the Engineering Employers Federation [EEF], BAE Systems, the DHSB Trust and the Gleason Foundation) who together gave £150,000 to support the school’s innovative work.
