Ahead of the 2020 celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the departure of the Mayflower, education settings on both sides of the pond are linking and planning events to remind everyone of our shared heritage.

Miss Ball, in her role as International Links Co-ordinator, has led the way and we’re looking forward to further events in the next five years.

Many guests enjoyed the preview of our A level Art and Photography Exhibition on Monday evening. The exhibition was held at the Devonport Guildhall for the first time and was open to the public all week.

Staff, students and visitors enjoyed our annual Summer Fair in the sun this afternoon. All six Houses ran stalls and competitions to raise funds for their chosen charities.

Well done to two musical students this week.

Miles Gillhespy 7E (second cornet) played with the Soundhouse (Plymouth) Brass Youth Academy at the West of England Bandsman’s Festival in Bugle. The band won the Training Band section of the competition, beating five local training bands.

The Youth Academy has also recently performed at Lord Mayor’s and Armed Forces Days.
