6 July 2018

What a brilliant week!

750 students, seven residentials and over 100 daily activities!

Students and staff enjoyed bright sun and blue skies through the week as they took part in sailing, climbing, cooking, scuba diving, surfing, martial arts, photography, bushcraft and so much more!

Year 12 students either completed their Geography fieldwork or planned a range of experiences aimed at informing their future career/life path.

Ms Davidson said, “Activities included work placements:shadowing and university visits”.

We’ve received lots of postive feedback from staff and families especially about the residential opportunities enjoyed by students.

Here is just a small selection of the messages and comments.

Excellent group of boys and great to see them enjoy the experience.

We are so proud of the conduct and behaviour of team Italy, thank you!

The boys have been fantastic, brilliant surfing, great behaviour and really complimentary comments from the public about the boys. Very proud of them all.

Our son had the best time and has come home after a wonderful adventure with lots of stories to tell and memories to keep.

Thank you to the staff of DHSB for providing the boys with an amazing experience. Our son had a fantastic time.

We didn’t run a photograpy competition this week but if we had I think this stunning image from Ms Welton would have been awarded first prize!

And so, to summarise, we went to Barcelona …

…and Lisbon to play football

We visited Florence for the culture

Year 7 students learnt new skills at Bushcraft…

…while Year 12 Geographers completed their fieldwork

We went to Sennen for the surf…

…and sailed from Plymouth to Penzance and the Scilly Isles

Here is just a small selection of our other activities. Check our Twitter hashtag #dhsbcew to share in the full range of adventures.

Our staff had lots of fun too!

And just occasionally, it all got a little bit too much for some of us!
