What are you doing now?
I have just recently established my own Health and Fitness company (Sam Farrant Fitness – be sure to spread the word)! This is in conjunction with me starting my Masters Degree in Sports and Health Sciences at Exeter University.
What route did you take up to this point?
After leaving DHSB I went on to complete a Foundation Degree in Strength Conditioning and Sports Coaching before going on to complete a top up year at the University of St Mark and St John. This allowed me to finish my degree with a high 2:1 BSc in Fitness Education and Coaching.
What words of wisdom would you give to a student joining DHSB in Year 7?
These next five to seven years will be the most enjoyable years of your life (unfortunately I didn’t appreciate this until I left). During this time you reap what you sow and hard work always pays off in the long run. Make the most of every opportunity given to you by DHSB because those are the experiences you will never forget.
Any fond memories of school you can share?
Without meaning to sound too cliche I have too many memories. The first and last days you never forget, but the journey and friendships you pick up in between are moments you will not forget!
Do you have a message for any of your teachers?
Mr Orkney and co, I’m delighted that you finally have the 3G sports pitch that had always been desired at the school and am slightly envious that I am no longer a student!
