Modern Foreign Languages
The MFL Faculty makes a robust and enthusiastic contribution to maintaining and enhancing the high performance of our school.
The ultimate vision of the Faculty is to nurture talent at all levels through exposure to at least one of the three foreign languages on offer, namely French, German and Spanish. We aim to produce linguists who will be able to use their skills in their professional careers and enrich their personal lives as global citizens.
We have high expectations of our students and work with them to achieve their maximum potential. The Faculty creates an environment in which students can enjoy communicating in a foreign language and encourages a positive and enquiring attitude to other cultures and people.
The Faculty wishes to ensure that all students speak and write a foreign language with confidence and accuracy, and also understand both spoken and written forms. Throughout their school life students are encouraged to participate in visits and exchanges abroad to widen their horizons and to see themselves as players on a world stage.
