16 March 2018

Very well done to Lewis, Oscar, Aidan, Max and Cameron who took part in the Big Bang Fair in Birmingham this week.

They are pictured here with their medals.

The Big Bang Fair is the ‘UK’s largest celebration of science and engineering for young people’ and our team thoroughly enjoyed their time there.

Thank you to Mr Huq and Mr Braun for supporting our students.

German Exchange Programme

We’ve welcomed 19 students and two members of staff to DHSB this week as part of our long-running German Exchange programme. They have an extensive programme of activities and lessons planned and will be enjoying the weekend with their DHSB partners.

Information, Advice and Guidance

There was lots of information on offer at the Skills South West Show this week, billed as the region’s ‘biggest interactive careers, jobs, skills and apprenticeship event’.

Ms Moreton took some Year 11 students to the event during the day and encouraged others to attend after school.

As always, you’ll be able to read a full round-up of all things careers related in her Blog on Monday morning.

Mr Burt has asked me to let you know that Tommy Woodward, Alex Sheridan and Ed Epps all made their debut for Devon U15s against Somerset last weekend. Next weekend they will face a Bristol schools’ representative side.

Mr Carpenter reports the U16 Hockey team had to head home after finishing third in their pool and narrowly missing out on qualification for the semi-finals at the West of England hockey finals.
