Nine teams hit the moor last weekend for a challenging introduction to their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition preparation.

Mr Huq led the mobilisation and tweeted vigorously over the two days (some of these pictures are below).

It was wonderful to see so many boys working in teams and taking on this physical and intellectual activity.

97 Boys are taking the DoE Bronze at DHSB this year. Well done to everyone involved and good luck to the teams out this weekend.

Please follow @tayhuq for updates and photos throughout the two days.

DHSB PTFA

A time for farewells and thanks at the PTFA AGM on Wednesday.

A fantastic turnout of new members will ensure that the funds continue to come in to support “extra” provision for the boys and that school events are well represented by parents. A special thanks to Jane Peppitt, Debs Dyer and Sarah Jones who handed on the baton on Wednesday.

Sarah is pictured here receiving a well-deserved bouquet. Jane and Debs have also received cards and flowers.

DHSB Teachmeet

Around 80 teachers were treated to a Teachmeet and a curry on the same night @Refuel. Well done to Mr Roberts for bringing enthusiastic professionals from across the SW to share practical approaches to classroom success and to enjoy each other’s company.

Sponsored by Randstad, this is the third event to have been organised by DHSB and more will follow.

Please catch up on what was shared by reading our teaching blog.

The ReFuel team excelled themselves with the curries – delicious!
