In an extraordinary few days, DHSB was closed this week due to ‘snow days’ for the first time in several years.
Students were calmly dismissed after morning break on Wednesday and, due to the severe forecast and red weather warning from the Met Office, the school remained closed throughout Thursday and Friday.
Thank you to our brilliant staff who ensured all students left safely. It was wonderful to see them enjoying the snow at break before they left; this will be a long lasting memory.
Our students were a real credit to us and themselves as they returned home. Thanks also to all parents and carers for your support.
We hope to re-open and get back to normal on Monday 5 March.
Here are a few scenes from the school on Wednesday when we experienced heavy snow fall through the morning.
Thanks to Dr Stears, Mr Berryman, Mrs McGowan and Mrs Donnelly for sharing their photos with me.
