Across the country today, hundreds of thousands of young people are receiving their GCSE results against a national backdrop of high academic standards and an increasingly diverse array of post-16 pathways. Here at DHSB, there is a fantastic atmosphere of joy and celebration this morning as we welcome back our Year 11 students, families, and staff to share in this special moment. Today’s achievements are a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and ambition our students have shown throughout their secondary education. It is also a wonderful opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our dedicated staff, who have worked endlessly to guide our pupils, and to our parents and carers, whose steadfast support has made these accomplishments possible.

To all our Year 11s collecting their results today, as you celebrate, always remember that while these qualifications mark an important milestone, you are defined by so much more than a set of examination grades; your individual character, talent, and enthusiasm are what truly make you exceptional. Our staff are on site throughout the day to support you with your next steps—whether that means completing your Sixth Form enrolment, confirming vocational courses, or finalising apprenticeships. We are immensely proud of each and every one of you, and whether we are welcoming you back through our doors in September or waving you off to new horizons, we wish you the absolute best of luck in your exciting next chapter!
