5 September 2014

A new year began at DHSB for our Year 7s and 12s today. Blessed with sun and well-structured activities our students and staff set the standard for the year.

In my address to Year 7 I emphasised the importance of hard work and our high expectations for all.

I was also pleased to welcome new staff to the school on Wednesday morning. Our reputation and culture ensures we recruit competitively and strongly, and this year has been no exception.

What a team!

Great to see our students successful in additional scholarship and bursary awards.

Alex Reed and Krystian Lane will each receive the Olford Bequest; you can read their story here.

In addition to this, Harry Samuels and Ross Martin are the recipients of £2.5K bursaries made by old boy Justin Bickle (the competitive process rewards enterprise and initiative during Sixth Form life).

Justin was our guest of honour at Speech Day last year

Following our induction day today we’re looking forward to the return of the whole school on Monday. Students will be registered in their form bases as usual.
