Executive Summary

Live monitoring and evaluations exist within BlueSky throughout the year. Department Self Evaluation, including Question Level Analysis, identify priorities to be addressed by teams and individuals. They all relate to the following strategic intents.

Students achieve the highest academic standards

➢ Implementation of curriculum and assessment changes.
➢ Continued focus on the needs of different groups to raise achievement, including the most able.
➢ Emphasis on ensuring all students are challenged and make excellent progress in lessons.
➢ A whole-school focus on literacy and oracy.
➢ Develop appropriate homework that stretches and challenges learning.

All staff seek to become even better

➢ Review Professional Exploration targets as part of the appraisal process.
➢ Develop a robust appraisal system for support staff and promoting opportunities for professional development.
➢ Raise the bar with professional development in the community via Teachmeets.
➢ Emphasis on internal collaboration for CPD to build collective capacity.

Leadership at all levels

➢ Peer to peer support and academic mentoring is given structure and its impact evaluated.
➢ Consistent approach to standards outside of academic time such as registration and break.
➢ Enhance the application, recording and monitoring of low level disruption.
➢ Extend leadership opportunities for students and staff.

Collaboration and Community

➢ Widen access to improve social mobility.
➢ Improve the consistency and clarity of communication to students, staff, parents and the wider community.
➢ Enhance the support of staff wellbeing.
➢ Enable families to support their children through regular engagement events.
➢ Overcome the barriers to transition from Key Stage 2 to 3.

Creative & Entrepreneurial Spirit

➢ Overcome the barriers to recruitment and retention reflected nationally through a new DHSB approach.
➢ The establishment of the Learning Commons and development of the Devonport Market Hall.
➢ Maximise income generation through existing and new ventures.
➢ Promote and build the quality and reach of the Arts provision.
➢ Improve the communication, monitoring and the impact of Homework through our bespoke platform Homeworky.
➢ Continue to use the latest cutting edge technology creatively and innovatively.
