‘A little magic can take you a long way’

Roald Dahl

This week we had our own piece of magic happening at DHSB as part of our celebrations for Roald Dahl Day.

A number of golden tickets were hidden around the site with those lucky enough to find one being entered into a prize draw.

Chair of the Year Award

I was pleased to attend the 2016 Plymouth Governor Awards this week. Carolyn Bruce-Spencer received the Chair of the Year award.

We have been extremely fortunate to have had such a dedicated, committed, enthusiastic and innovative Chair of Governors since Carolyn Bruce-Spencer was appointed in April 2011. The chair is a pivotal role with high levels of accountability and pressure and Carolyn has led the board with ease while also maintaining the core values and tradition of the school. The whole school community appreciates her support in such challenging times in education. Carolyn deserves the recognition of this award for her years of service and for successfully leading DHSB through Academisation and achieving an outstanding Ofsted judgement.
